About the Event
Professionals who work with parents are often at a loss as to how to support or coach parents who are struggling with how to talk with their teens about sexuality. Emi will share the top 20 things you should know when working with parents around their children and sexuality, parents' most commonly asked questions and how you can answer them.
Emi Canahuati has been a sexuality educator and trainer for 20 years. She has a Masters in Counseling and is certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Through her education practice, Talk and Thrive Education, LLC she does workshops and coaching for parents on talking with their children about sex and sexuality as well as about Positive Discipline. She is a board member of TNASH and Nashville Launchpad (provides affirming shelter for LGBTQ+ youth 18-24) and a member of the Adolescent Sexual Responsibility Committee of Alignment Nashville.

Lunch and a Certificate of Attendance will be provided for attendees. Varying accrediting bodies allow for the certificate to be used as a CEU. Participants are responsible for knowing accrediting organization’s continuing education standards.
