This talk will provide a brief overview of developmental neuroanatomy as well as adult anatomy for the sexual health practitioner. Other areas reviewed include general neuroanatomy and the biochemistry/physiology of female and male sexual functioning.
Dr. Carol Milam has been practicing adult psychiatry for over 30 years in a multitude of settings—consult liaison, chronically mentally ill, geriatric, occupational and student health with a more recent concentration in Sexual Medicine at her private practice. She trained at the University of Utah and then received certificates in Sex Therapy and Education from the University of Michigan. Dr. Milam lectures at Vanderbilt Medical School, the Vanderbilt School of Nursing, Department of Psychiatry (psychiatric residents) as well as guest lectures for the Human Development Counseling program.
