Participants in the Reproductive Justice (RJ) Crash Course will cover the following information:
1. Core Reproductive Justice Principles
2. Necessity for and contextualization of Reproductive Justice,
3. Origins of Reproductive Justice
4. Reproductive Oppression
5. Intersectionality and Key RJ Strategies
Orisha A. Bowers is a native Memphian. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and Dance, a Masters of Arts in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Memphis, a Masters of Education in Curriculum Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University, Certification in Complementary Alternative Medicine, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in
Culture and Humanities and a Graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies at Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Orisha has more than 15 years of experience in social services, nonprofit leadership, grants management, program design, and civic leadership. Orisha has been a dedicated community volunteer serving as a member of the board of directors for SisterReach, the Partnership To End AIDS, Inc., and Dress For Success Memphis. Orisha has assisted in the founding and development of four nonprofit organizations; Partnership To End AIDS, Inc., Alpha House, The Church on The Square Counseling Center, and The Open Book Project.

Lunch and a Certificate of Attendance will be provided for attendees. Varying accrediting bodies allow for the certificate to be used as a CEU. Participants are responsible for knowing accrediting organization’s continuing education standards.
All trainings are eligible for 1 continuing education unit with The American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.
