About the Event
Many people are exploring consensually non-monogamous relationships, and as a result, related issues are showing up in therapy rooms everywhere. In this informal discussion, Martha will discuss strategies for working with clinical challenges that often arise in relational therapy involving polyamory. Bring your burning questions, and enjoy a spirited conversation!
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1) Formulate a treatment plan for at least one polyamory-related clinical challenge.
2) List at least 3 frequently encountered polyamory-related challenges.
Presenter Bio: Martha Kauppi, LMFT, is an educator, AASECT-certified sex therapist and supervisor. She specializes in relational sex therapy, including alternative family structures, and trains therapists to work effectively at the intersection of sex issues and relationship challenges. Martha’s mission is to make sex a safe topic in therapy rooms everywhere by developing unique educational experiences and immediately-applicable learning materials for therapists. She has a book coming out soon about working effectively with clinical challenges related to polyamory, and blogs regularly at www.instituteforrelationalintimacy.com. She has a private practice in Madison, WI.
