This presentation will delve into creating a standard of care that is inclusive to trans and non-binary people. We will be discussing:
Incorporating gender neutral language on intake forms and in session
How to create better health outcomes for patients whose gender identity doesn’t match their sex assigned at birth
Barriers for Accessing Care for gender non-confirming individuals, and best practices
Come with questions, and be ready to explore the nuances of gender, sex, and professional competency.
Renae Taylor is a 41 yo non-binary trans person living in Memphis, TN. Renae is originally from Northeast MS, and has an abundance of experience advocating for Trans individuals and those living with HIV/AIDS. Renae is involved in various organizations dealing with HIV Education and Prevention, and is an active member of the local HIV Care and Prevention planning body. Renae Taylor also is a writer for The Unleashed Voice Magazine.

Lunch and a Certificate of Attendance will be provided for attendees. Varying accrediting bodies allow for the certificate to be used as a CEU. Participants are responsible for knowing accrediting organization’s continuing education standards.
All trainings are eligible for .5 continuing education units with The American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.
